Review Policy

I would be interested to review your book.

As a book blogger, I have an ever growing to be read pile of books books I need to read. However, I am happy to consider reviewing and promoting other books too. If you’d like me to review your book, please read the info below.

If you would like me to review a book please contact me

Please include:

  • The title of your book
  • Who it’s published by
  • The release date
  • A summary/blurb of the book
  • The book cover (I might use photo of cover on my blog when I review it)

Please note that I can’t accept every request. This might be down to personal preference, or because I just don’t have the time read extra books at any given time. Please don’t be offended if I can’t accept your request at this time.

Book formats

I will accept books in the following formats:

  • Physical copy (paperback or hardback)
  • Kindle eBook or PDF
  • I will accept both ARCs/proof copies and finished copies

Genres

While I tend to not read young adult books, I am willing to make exceptions if the synopsis sounds intriguing. I also tend to avoid first person view point books but make exceptions on these as well, I usually read them in anthologies. The following are genres I enjoy reading:

  • Horror (the one I enjoy most and most books in my blog cover)
  • Suspense
  • Short story anthologies
  • Fantasy (not high fantasy)
  • Mystery/thriller

When will the review be posted?

I try to read at least one hundred pages a week.  If you’ve sent me a copy of your book, I will always try and send you an update if it’ll take longer than a month.

If you’d like the review posted before/by a certain date, e.g. publication date, please let me know and I will try my best to get the review published that date.

I will send you a link to the published review, as well as sharing it on social media (Twitter and Goodreads, sometimes on Amazon).

PLEASE NOTE: If I accept your book to review, I am not contractually obliged to review it. If I can’t review your book right now due to personal reasons, other commitments, or because I did not enjoy the book, there may be times when I will not post a review. I understand that authors worked hard to write their books, I’d rather not post a negative review or if I do review it I will say it was not my kind of book as a strive to give honest reviews.

I always ensure I read at least 25% of a book before making this decision, and in some cases I will give the book a second chance later on; in such cases I will let you know my decision.
